November Things

Is November really halfway over?!  I feel like this month has been a blur and with the Philly weather, some days I’m convinced it’s November while others have me thinking it’s March.

Getting used to little kid germs has afforded me lots of time to watch my fav show, “Love it or list it too” and think of ways I want to organize/redecorate our apartment.  I’ve also thought a lot about traveling, food, and if $100 is really the price I want to pay for a winter coat. (If it weren’t for recess duty, my $34 Target jacket would do the trick)

So here are some random things I’m loving this month:

1.) Fall in NYC.  Living in Philly means more than eating soft pretzels and cheesesteaks.  I love that we are a 2 hour bus ride from the Big Apple.  Fall in NYC is absolutely amazing. Leaves were swirling all about on our visit.

2.) Free-standing shelves in kitchen.  Lately, I’ve become super frustrated with our kitchen.  It’s cute, but small.  And it’s dark.  Since we rent, I can’t really make changes to paint color, but I do want to get rid of our cluttered Craigslist kitchen cart.  I’d love to put some shelves up and paint them turquoise, which would go well with some red accents that we already have.

4.) Chili with a twist.  The weather is colder, which means meals are heartier.  We recently made this Chili Cornbread Skillet which was amazing.  I suggest you do the same, ASAP.

5.) Uggs.  I can’t get through a winter without some comfy Uggs.  They last a fairly long time – 3 years in my experience – which makes the hefty price tag worth it.  I had a pair of the classic black short before, but this year, I’m thinking of opting for a dark gray with a cute pattern.

Aside from these things, I’m also super stoked for Thanksgiving and then, my favorite time of year – Christmas!  I’ve already started listening to holiday tunes and have told Felix that we may have to get rid of our kitchen table so we can fit a real Christmas tree in its place (he was not impressed).

What are some of your favorite November things?
